Patio
Construction

Your backyard deserves more than a patch of grass. A concrete patio creates usable outdoor living space — for grilling, entertaining, relaxing, or just having a place to sit outside that isn't muddy. Built to handle Michigan weather for decades.

Patio Design Options

From simple and functional to decorative showpieces — we build patios to match your vision and budget

Broom Finish

The classic, slip-resistant finish. Clean, functional, and the most cost-effective option. Perfect for utility patios.

Stamped Concrete

Patterns pressed into the surface mimic brick, stone, or slate. A premium look at a fraction of the cost of natural materials.

Exposed Aggregate

The top layer is washed away to reveal the natural stone aggregate beneath. Textured, slip-resistant, and visually interesting.

Colored Concrete

Integral color mixed throughout the concrete or surface stains applied for a custom look that complements your home.

Why Concrete Over Pavers?

Pavers look great in the showroom, but in Michigan they shift, settle, and grow weeds between the joints. Sand washes out. Individual pavers crack and need replacement. The base settles unevenly, creating trip hazards.

A properly constructed concrete patio is a single, continuous slab that doesn't shift, doesn't grow weeds, and doesn't require annual maintenance. With stamped or colored finishes, it can look just as good as pavers — and last significantly longer.

Our Patio Construction Process

From design to finished patio — typically 2-4 days

01

Design Consultation

We visit your property to discuss size, shape, finish options, and placement. We evaluate drainage, grade, and access. A firm quote is provided — the price you see is the price you pay.

02

Site Preparation

The patio area is excavated to proper depth, graded for drainage away from your home, and a compacted gravel sub-base is installed for stability.

03

Forms & Reinforcement

Forms are set to your chosen dimensions and shape. Wire mesh or rebar reinforcement is placed to prevent cracking.

04

Pour & Finish

Concrete is poured, consolidated, and finished to your chosen texture — broom finish, stamped, exposed aggregate, or smooth. Control joints are cut to manage cracking.

05

Cure & Enjoy

Curing compound is applied for maximum strength. After 7 days, your new patio is ready for furniture and foot traffic.

Patio Construction FAQ

How long does patio construction take?

Most residential patios take 2-4 days from excavation to finished pour. Curing takes an additional 7 days before you can place furniture.

What size patio do I need?

A 10x12 patio fits a small table and chairs. A 12x16 accommodates a dining set and grill. 16x20+ creates a true outdoor living space. We'll help you determine the right size during consultation.

Can you build a patio on a slope?

Yes. We can build stepped patios, retaining walls, or grade the area to create a level surface. We assess the slope during consultation.

How thick should a patio be?

Standard residential patios are 4 inches thick. For hot tubs or heavy use areas, we recommend 6 inches with additional reinforcement.

Can I add a patio cover later?

Yes. We can install footings for future pergola or cover posts during the initial pour, making future additions easier and more stable.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. Up to 12 months same-as-cash financing and longer-term payment plans.
