How Curbing Installation Works

Design Consultation
We visit your property to measure, discuss layout, and present profile, pattern, and color options. You choose the look — we provide a firm quote. The confirmed price is the price you pay.
Layout & Preparation
On installation day, we mark the curbing path using string lines and stakes. The ground is prepared and graded to ensure proper placement and drainage.
Extrusion
Concrete is mixed on-site and fed through an extrusion machine that shapes the curbing profile as it is placed. The machine follows the marked path, creating a continuous, seamless border.
Stamping & Finishing
If you selected a stamped pattern, it is applied while the concrete is still workable. Edges are cleaned, joints are cut where needed, and the surface is finished to your specifications.
Sealing & Cleanup
After curing, the curbing is sealed with a UV-resistant sealer for lasting color and protection. We clean up completely — your landscaping is ready to enjoy.

Most residential curbing projects are completed in a single day. The concrete needs 24-48 hours to cure before you should walk on it, and we recommend waiting a week before placing heavy mulch or soil against it.
How long does decorative curbing last?
Properly installed and sealed concrete curbing lasts 15-25 years or more. Regular resealing every 2-3 years helps maintain the color and protect against weathering.
Can curbing follow curves and irregular shapes?
Yes. The extrusion process allows us to follow any curve, angle, or contour. This is one of the main advantages over pre-cast or brick borders.
Will curbing prevent weeds?
Curbing significantly reduces weed intrusion at landscape borders. The continuous concrete barrier prevents weeds from growing through joints (unlike brick or stone borders). Some weeds may still grow over the top of the curbing, but maintenance is dramatically reduced.
Can I mow right up to the curbing?
Yes. The curbing profile is designed so you can run your mower wheel right along the edge, eliminating the need for string trimming in most cases.
