Understanding the root cause helps prevent future problems
Water seeps beneath slabs, saturates the soil, and expands when it freezes. Over time, this repeated cycle compresses and erodes the sub-base, creating voids beneath the concrete.
If the sub-base wasn't properly compacted before the concrete was poured, it settles over time as soil naturally consolidates under the weight of the slab and vehicle traffic.
Downspout runoff, broken underground pipes, and tree root decay can wash away supporting soil, leaving voids that cause the slab to drop.
The good news: In most cases, the concrete itself is still structurally sound. The problem is underneath — and that's exactly what concrete lifting addresses. Instead of tearing out and replacing perfectly good concrete, we inject expanding polyurethane foam beneath the slab to fill the voids and raise it back to grade.
Visible slab settlement — one or more sections have dropped below adjacent slabs
Trip hazards at joints, especially near the garage apron or sidewalk connection
Water pooling on the surface after rain instead of draining toward the street
Cracks forming along edges of sunken sections as they pull away
Rocking or wobbling when you walk across certain sections
Gap forming between the driveway and your garage floor

We drill small, penny-sized holes (about 5/8 inch) through the sunken slab at strategic locations. These injection points are carefully planned for even lifting. Far less invasive than full replacement.
High-density expanding foam is injected beneath the slab. The foam fills voids and generates controlled lift pressure. We monitor elevation in real-time using laser levels for precise, even lifting.
Injection holes are patched with matching concrete compound. Foam cures within 15 minutes — you can drive on your driveway the same day. We clean up completely.
Mudjacking may cost less upfront, but it's a temporary fix that often makes the problem worse
Mudjacking pumps a heavy cement slurry — weighing 100-150 pounds per cubic foot — underneath your already-sunken slab. The concrete sank because the soil beneath it was too weak to support it. Mudjacking's solution? Add even more weight to that same weak soil. The result is predictable: the slab begins settling again almost immediately, and most mudjacked driveways are back where they started within 2-5 years.
Worse, mudjacking slurry doesn't spread evenly beneath the slab. It flows through the path of least resistance, leaving pockets and creating new voids that weren't there before — setting you up for future cracking and settlement in areas that were previously fine.
Mudjacking also requires 1-2 inch holes drilled through your concrete, takes 24-48 hours to cure, and the slurry can ooze up through cracks and joints, staining the surface.
Polyurethane foam weighs just 2-4 pounds per cubic foot — roughly 50x lighter than mudjacking material. Think of it like floating a boat: once the slab is lifted and supported by lightweight foam, there's virtually no additional load on the soil. It stays where we put it.
But foam doesn't just sit there — as it expands, it pushes into the surrounding weak soil, compacting and strengthening it. This addresses the root cause of settlement, not just the symptom. The foam is also closed-cell and completely waterproof, so it won't erode or wash away like mudjacking slurry can.
The injection holes are just 5/8 inch — penny-sized and nearly invisible after patching. Foam cures in 15 minutes, and you can drive on it the same day. The U.S. Department of Transportation prefers polyurethane foam for highway repairs for exactly these reasons.
What We Use
Cheaper — But Temporary
Most Expensive
Most jobs completed in 2-4 hours. Drive on it the same day.
Level driveway without the expense and disruption of demolition.
If the slab settles again within warranty, we come back at no cost.
The confirmed quote is the final price. Period.
Small injection holes instead of jackhammers. Landscaping stays intact.
Waterproof, doesn't erode, maintains density indefinitely.
If the lifted slab settles again within the warranty period, we return and re-level it at no cost. We stand behind our work because we use premium materials and proven techniques.
Fix your driveway now, pay over time.
"Matt and team took our tipped concrete pads and tipped front stairs and righted them and made it all look great again. Great Job and pleased with the outcome."
Karen Ludwig
"Matt did a great job fixing my front step! My walkway had dropped off from the front step of my house. Matt was able to raise the walkway back up and reseal the area that broke off. It looks like new!"
Ryan Tierney
"They were timely, professional, and went above and beyond. I had some wash out and they came and lifted and filled my driveway very quickly."
David Steffes
Most residential jobs are completed in 2-4 hours. Foam cures within 15 minutes, and you can drive on the surface the same day.
Polyurethane foam is waterproof, doesn't degrade, and lasts 20+ years. Unlike mudjacking — which adds heavy weight to already-weak soil and typically settles back within 2-5 years — foam weighs almost nothing and actually strengthens the surrounding soil as it expands. We also assess root causes like drainage during consultation to prevent future issues.
Typically 50-70% less than full replacement. Exact cost depends on number of slabs, lift needed, and accessibility. Use our instant quote tool for a ballpark.
Our foam injection holes are just 5/8 inch — roughly penny-sized. We patch with matching compound, and over time they become virtually invisible. Compare that to mudjacking, which requires 1-2 inch holes that leave noticeable patches.
Mudjacking is cheaper upfront, but it's a temporary fix. The heavy slurry (100-150 lbs per cubic foot) adds significant weight to soil that was already too weak to support your slab — so it starts sinking again almost immediately. Most mudjacked concrete settles back within 2-5 years, meaning you pay again. Foam weighs just 2-4 lbs per cubic foot, strengthens the soil as it expands, and lasts 20+ years. It costs more once — but you only pay once.
Yes, in most cases. If structurally sound, cracks don't prevent lifting. We can seal cracks after leveling. If severely deteriorated, we'll be upfront about the best option.
